The HOME DIAGNOSTICS Air Sampler

Viable and nonviable airborne contaminants include mold, can grow in your home and can cause a variety of health problems. Sampling uses culture plates containing specialized growth media (culture plates not included) or sporetrap cassettes (VersaTrap).

Laboratory analyses can identify if your indoor environment has abnormal populations and concentrations or airborne mold.

Home Diagnostics Culture PlatesIdentification of these organisms can help your physician in the diagnosis and treatment of allergy disease. Identification can also be helpful in the verification of proper identification removal of contamination sources, and facilitates site repairs.

HOME DIAGNOSTICS Culture Plates 

Mold/Mildew
Recommended to evaluate mold and mildew including Cladosporium, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Alternaria, Bipolaris, and many others. These organisms can potentially cause allergy, introduce airborne toxins, and cause invasive disease in special population groups.


How To Use Culture Plates For HVAC Sampling

 

Close all windows 24 hours prior to sampling. Open one bag containing a culture plate. Remove plate lid and place open side down. do not touch contents of plate.

Turn A/C to manual off. Immediately tape a plate on A/C supply vent towards air flow (label facing out). Run fan only for exactly 10 minutes.

Remove plate from vent. Place lid back on and immediately seal around plate edges with electrical/duct tape.

Repeat steps 1-4 at other desired sample locations. Mail immediately to designated lab. Allow 14 working days for analysis and mailed report.
